Meet The Dean
Prof. Salwa Mahmoud
Prof. Salwa is the Dean of the School of Applied Arts at Badr University Assiut. With an illustrious academic career, she has held several key positions, including Head of the Advertising Department at the School of Applied Arts, Helwan University, and Assistant Professor since 2006. She has also served as the Director of the Academic Training Unit and the Executive Director for the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Center at various institutions.
Throughout her career, Prof. Salwa has made significant contributions to advertising education and quality assurance, both nationally and internationally. She has been a consultant, trainer, and advisor for renowned institutions such as Al-Azhar University and the National Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and has coordinated international art exhibitions and academic programs. As a certified TOT trainer, she has led numerous educational initiatives, developing programs in brand design and visual identity.
Prof. Salwa’s work emphasizes innovation, creativity, and sustainability, reflecting her dedication to advancing the field of applied arts and nurturing future generations of designers and artists.

The Faculty of Applied Arts at Badr University in Assiut is a creative and technologically distinguished educational institution that is directly connected to design and the labor market. It aims to prepare specialized designers with innovative capabilities in the field of design, technology, and emerging techniques. The faculty provides the necessary foundations for applied scientific research and competitiveness at the local, regional, and global levels, through specialized programs that apply international academic standards for the applied arts sector, as set by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education in Egypt.
Within the framework of community engagement and creative communication, the faculty is committed to serving society, supporting the identity of national industries, and meeting their needs through applied studies. This is achieved while maintaining professional ethics and benefiting from the national expertise of the teaching staff and global expertise.

School premises
The classrooms are well equipped with comfort seats, a whiteboard, a data show device, a display screen, a microphone, headphones, Wi-Fi, and central air conditioning.
The central library, based on Campus, includes a large number of innovative Applied Arts books and publications set out in a relaxing environment, conducive to studying. There are comfortable seating areas, group study areas, a silent study area and private study rooms.
There are central halls and stands at the university that can be used when necessary, and they are all equipped for cultural, artistic and sports activities
The university offers a learning management system (LMS) for enhancing learning needs in all areas, assignment, examinations and student registration attendance.
The university offers health care facilities through well-equipped health care clinics (general clinics, dental care clinics and physiotherapy clinic. There is a diverse food court offering cold and hot snacks as a small area offering a variety of groceries and cold snacks. In addition, there is a copy center, a bank and a flower shop.
