Dr. Ziad Bahaa-Eldin

Dr. Ziad Bahaa-Eldin is a prominent Egyptian politician and economist who served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Cooperation. In addition to this role, Bahaa-Eldin is known for holding several important economic positions in the Egyptian government and the private sector. 

Academic Qualifications: 

  • PhD in Commercial Law from the University of London. 
  • Master’s in International Law from the University of Paris. 
  • Bachelor’s in Law from Cairo University. 
  • Diploma in Economics from the University of London. 

Previous Positions: 

  • Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Cooperation (2013-2014). 
  • Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones. 
  • Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (2009-2011), where he played a pivotal role in regulating non-banking financial activities. 
  • Founder and Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority, which is responsible for regulating non-banking financial markets in Egypt. 

In addition to his government work, Bahaa-Eldin is a leading expert in law and economics and has authored numerous articles and studies on economic, financial, and legal reforms.
