Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawi is a professor of cardiac surgery and the President of Assiut University. 

Biography: 

• Education: He earned his medical degree from Assiut University in 1988 with honors, followed by a Master’s degree in General Surgery with distinction in January 1993, and a PhD in Cardiac Surgery in June 1997. 

• Specialization: Dr. El-Menshawi is considered a pioneer in cardiac surgery in Egypt and one of the founders of pediatric cardiac surgery in the country. 

Previous Positions: 

• Vice President of Assiut University for Postgraduate Studies and Research: He held this position from December 29, 2018, until December 29, 2022. 

• Acting President of Assiut University: He served as Acting President from August 4, 2022, until the end of December of the same year. 

Contributions: 

• In Medicine: Made significant contributions to the development of cardiac surgery and pediatric cardiac surgery. 

• In Academic Administration: Worked on improving academic and administrative systems at Assiut University through his role as a professor and university president.
